Privacy Policy

Blackout Digital Solutions ("BDS", "we", "us") — a service of Blackout Ventures LLC, Centerville, Ohio — builds and operates websites, AI chatbots, and related marketing services for small businesses. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to blackoutds.com and to the client websites we build and operate (for example, dealership and home-services websites powered by our forms and chat tools).
Information we collect
- Contact & lead forms: when you submit a form on our site or a client site, we collect what you enter — typically your name, phone number, email address, and your message or request.
- Chat conversations: messages you type into our website chat widgets, plus any contact details you choose to share in a conversation.
- Client onboarding: when a business signs up with us, we collect business and owner contact details, including a phone number and — with explicit consent — permission to send text messages.
- Anonymous usage counters: our sites record aggregate event counts (page views, button clicks). These counters are anonymous — no cookies, no advertising identifiers, and no profiles of individual visitors.
How we use it
- To respond to your inquiry and connect you with the business you contacted — leads submitted on a client's website are delivered to that business and to us as its service provider.
- To provide, maintain, and improve our services.
- To send service communications you've requested or consented to (see text messaging below).
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Text messaging (SMS)
We send SMS only to people who have opted in — for example, business clients who agree during onboarding to receive lead notifications and account/service messages. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.
Sharing
We share personal information only with service providers who process it on our behalf to run the services — website hosting (Netlify), email delivery (Resend), telephone and SMS delivery (Twilio), and AI processing for chat responses (Anthropic). Each receives only what it needs to perform its function. We may also disclose information if required by law.
Retention & security
We keep lead and contact records for as long as needed to provide the service, then delete them on request or when no longer needed. Data is stored with reputable hosting providers using industry-standard security.
Your choices
- Text STOP to any of our numbers to stop receiving SMS.
- Email us to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you.
Children
Our services are for businesses and their customers and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update this page and the effective date above.
